What was done

Five Guys partnered with SoundHound AI to make the phone a reliable ordering channel even when restaurant staff are busy with in-store customers and kitchen work. The AI voice assistant answers inbound calls, takes and sends orders to the kitchen, performs consistent upsell prompts, and supports Spanish-language ordering as the program expands. The workflow is designed to remove hold time without pulling staff away from the grill or counter during lunch and dinner rushes. SoundHound reports more than 184,000 phone orders processed in the first year, 92% AI phone order completion in 2025, a 5% upsell conversion rate, more than 500,000 minutes of phone time eliminated, and adoption by more than 288 locations.
