Fiserv merchant category validation automation

What was done

Fiserv built a flagship agentic automation use case around merchant category code validation. UiPath Robots extract merchant details, cross-check them through a Bing API, and use UiPath GenAI Activities to select category codes, while validation rules handle most cases and UiPath Action Center routes outliers to humans. UiPath reports a 98% end-to-end process automation rate for the new MCC use case and about 12,000 hours saved per year.
