AppFolio Realm-X property management copilot

What was done

AppFolio built Realm-X Assistant as an embedded AI copilot for property management workflows involving residents, vendors, units, bills, work orders, messages, and scheduled actions. The team moved from LangChain-only tool calling to LangGraph so complex requests could reason before acting, parallelize independent branches, calculate fallbacks, and query help content. LangSmith provides production visibility for user feedback, error rates, costs, latency, and prompt iteration.
